Honouring Sharon: a long-time friend and volunteer

The Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society and the larger Boundary Bay, White Rock community recently lost a friend and valued volunteer, Sharon Jones. We send condolences to the family and friends who were with her through her illness and to all whose lives she touched in her time here.
Sharon always brought good humour, a strong work ethic, stalwart determination in the face of any kind of weather and a fun-loving spirit to social gatherings and work parties. For many years, among so many other things, she coordinated the long-running Shorekeepers program, was an active eelgrass restoration volunteer and led regular shoreline clean-ups at White Rock and Crescent Beaches, including Blackie Spit and the Savenye protected area. Thanks to Sharon's efforts, thousands of pounds of trash have been removed from local beaches!
An avid hiker, beach walker, kayaker and environmental champion, Sharon will be missed by so many. We'd like to honour Sharon by sharing a few photos:
