Spring arrives with birdsong, and this May 9th, we're celebrating World Migratory Bird Day with a morning outdoors. It's the perfect Mother's Day weekend activity, whether you're an experienced birder or just looking for a reason to get outside with family, there's something here for everyone:

Adults Activities

7:00am Bird Walk

  • Meet at Blackie Spit Park, Surrey.

  • This early-morning walk is led by experienced birders and is an ideal opportunity to spot shorebirds and migratory species before the day gets busy.

  • Space is limited and registration required.

9:00am Presentation

  • Sanford Hall, Kwomais Point Park, 1367 128th St, Surrey.

  • Following the walk, join us for an adult-focused presentation on migratory birds of the region.

Family Activities

9:45am Activities

  • Drop in for hands-on activities for all ages.

10:00am Family Presentation

  • An accessible, engaging introduction to migratory birds for families.

11:30am Family Bird Walk

  • A guided walk suitable for children and adults alike.

  • Registration required.
