As we step into February, Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society invites you to join us for a variety of environmental stewardship activities. Whether you enjoy hands-on conservation work or celebrating the beauty of our local ecosystems, there’s something for everyone this month!


World Wetlands Day Celebration – February 2

On Sunday, February 2, the Little Campbell Watershed Society hosted a wonderful World Wetlands Day celebration at the Semiahmoo Fish and Game Club. This event highlighted the importance of wetlands in our local environment, offering engaging discussions and interactive learning opportunities. Thank you to all who attended and supported this important cause!


Dart’s Hill Garden Park Workparty

  • Dates & Time: February 25 & March 25, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

  • Location: Dart’s Hill Garden Park

  • Details: Help care for this remarkable garden by joining our volunteer workparty. Your efforts contribute to the ongoing preservation of this cherished local green space.




Serpentine WMA Nest Box Cleanout

  • Date:  February 24

  • Location: For event logistics, please sign up on our volunteer page

  • Details: Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society will be conducting the annual nest box cleanout at Serpentine Wildlife Management Area to prepare for the upcoming nesting season.




Looking Ahead: Invasive Green Crab Trapping Methods Training

  • Dates: April 15 & 16

  • Location: Blackie Spit

  • Details: Join us for a special training session on invasive green crab trapping methods. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn how to help protect our local ecosystems from invasive species. To register, please message Diane.


Looking Ahead: Updates About Our Marine School Programs

  • Details: We are relaunching our educational programs for elementary and high school students from Surrey (36), Delta (37), and Langley (35). Intended to build understanding and engaging experiences for students with their local environments, we are so excited to announce more information on this program coming soon.
