The Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society and its partners are pleased to invite the community to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day on May 10th. This year’s theme, "Shared Spaces," explores how we can shape the future of our cities and communities to create a bird-friendly world.

Festivities will begin at 7:30 AM with a guided bird walk, followed by a full day of family activities, crafts, live owl presentations, and expert talks from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Visitors are encouraged to bring friends, family, binoculars, water, snacks, and to dress appropriately for the weather.

Join us at the Key Biodiversity Area of Elgin Heritage Park, located at 13568 Crescent Road, Surrey, for a day of fun, learning, and celebration of birdlife. To register for the 7:30 AM bird walk, please email blueheron@birdsonthebay.ca.

Partners participating in the event include: Birds Canada, Surrey Parks, Wild Birds Unlimited, BCWF, A Rocha, VARC, Delta Nats, BC Nature, Surrey Libraries, Semiahmoo Earthworks Club, Semiahmoo Arts Society, NatureKids BC, and OWL- this is a City of Surrey Parks event, for more see www.surrey.ca/extravaganza.

Everyone is welcome!
