Community Outreach Coordinator & Volunteers

We need a volunteer event coordinator who enjoys people and networking to help us register for events and coordinate the schedule with volunteers to attend with display materials. We attend about 8 - 10 events and host 2-3 annually. Ideally the events coordinator resides in the South Surrey area for quick access to the FoSBS office.

Saturday, April 17, 10am-4pm Earth Day Bear Creek Park, Surrey
Thursday, April 22, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm Earth Day TD Canada Trust Event, Central Plaza, White Rock
April 19 -23, Delta Environmental Week, Corporation of Delta City Hall, attending day TBA
Sunday, June 6, 9 - 4pm World Ocean Day Blackie Spit

Media & Publication Coordinator

This role raises awareness of FoSBS by creating and distributing general event listings, press releases, posters, news updates. Update media list, assist with website redesign and fundraising initiatives. Suitable for those learning or experienced with some form of media: journalism, media, web design, marketing, graphic design. The FoSBS’s twin mandate is environmental education and restoration in the Boundary Bay watershed. Hours: 4 hrs a week Apr- Aug. Occasional event coverage through winter.

TD Great Shoreline Cleanup Coordinator

Blackie Spit Park needs an annual cleanup and we do it in September as part of the TD Great Shoreline Cleanup initiative. This role organizes the details and volunteers. The TD Great Shoreline Cleanup also collects and submits data on the collected litter.
